Years before I realized what a health coach was, friends and coworkers would ask me questions like:
“Will you help me lose weight?”
“Can you plan my meals for me?”
“How do you know what you know about healthy habits?”
“What’s the best workout to do, and how can I stay consistent?”
And for years, I would answer them, all while dreaming about doing it as a profession. {Little did I know that I was manifesting my future.} Because answering questions like the ones above and helping people with those concerns is what I now get to do as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. And I love it! Want to learn more? Keep reading!
What is a Health Coach?
A health coach plays many roles, but the best coaches act as the “guide on the side” of your health journey. I am certified as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, which means I look at more than what you eat and how you exercise. In addition to those things, there are 12 other areas of your life I investigate with you. Because so often, when you’re unhappy in one area of your life, there are consequences in another. And almost always, your health suffers.

What does a Health Coach do?
A health coach does just that: coaches you to make healthy choices and behavioral changes that align with YOUR goals. We don’t diagnose disease, prescribe medications, or demand you make changes you’re not ready to make. We act as a guide on your journey, ask you questions that help you make connections, and keep you focused on your goals.
What else does a Health Coach do? Among other things, we:
- Help you set realistic and attainable goals
- Hold you accountable to said goals
- Assist with grocery lists and meal plans
- Suggest exercise routines
- Encourage you to make connections between different areas of your life
What are some typical results you can expect from working with a Health Coach?
- Weight loss
- Increased energy
- Better sleep
- Improved stress management
- More balance in your life (surrounding areas like joy, spirituality, creativity, and career)
- Implementation of new daily habits that align with your goals
How to know if working with a Health Coach is right for you?
Health coaches work with clients in various capacities. You’ll find services available from coaches in one-on-one coaching, group programs, corporate settings, and online courses. My practice operates in the following areas:
One on one coaching
This is probably what most people think of when they think of health coaching. I work with my clients in a six-month program, meeting every two weeks. A program this long allows us to work through a variety of seasons, holidays, and scenarios. Book a free discovery call here.
Group coaching
I’m developing a curriculum for clients who prefer to work on common goals in community with others. If you want to get on the waitlist for this program, send me an email here.
Corporate coaching
Some businesses offer health coaching as a corporate benefit. Ask your Human Resources manual to see if this is available to you!
Online courses
Eventually, I’ll be offering courses that allow you to work at your own pace. Stay tuned!
What to look for

You’ll want to make sure you’re working with a certified health coach from an accredited agency. I am certified from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Check out my certification here.
In Summary
Health Coaching is an invaluable tool for so many people. We help clients make connections beyond just what to eat or drink or which workout to do. If you think you need a little extra support, don’t be afraid to reach out and get help. Nothing brings me more joy than watching my client smash their goals. I hold a safe space for my clients and am happy to do the same for you.
